A new E-commerce venture in men’s clothing required a robust financial model of the business plan in order to be able to back capital-raising efforts from sophisticated investors. After starting up the business, the company experimented strong growth and required successive rounds of financing and a financial model that kept up with the changes to the business.
During start-up a thorough due diligence of the business plan was conducted by Isthmus Partners in several workshops with the venture’s principals. The key drivers underpinning the business plan were identified and their links to the venture’s financial needs established. A financial model built on a comprehensive set of relevant inputs was prepared to project the initial financing requirements of the venture and the profitability of the business. The model allowed multiple scenarios and the test of sensitivities of outputs to key inputs and was a helpful tool not only for the capital raising but also for management’s decision making.

Financial Modelling for a Start-Up Wood Board Manufacturer in Abu Dhabi
Project for a new venture to open a factory in Abu Dhabi using an innovative proprietary technology to transform palm tree waste into wood board. The project required a relatively large amount of funding and a sophisticated financial model supporting the capital raising for the project.
